(Adds details in last paragraph)

MOSCOW, Oct 17 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) can increase by 0–0.1% on the year in October–December, Deputy Economic Development Minister Alexei Vedev told reporters on Monday.

Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev said last week that the economy can return to growth in annual terms already in October–December, and a GDP decline for the entire year will be below the forecasted 0.6%.

Under the estimate of the ministry, the GDP did not change on the year in August and contracted 0.7% in January–August.

Vedev said GDP will more likely rise 1.1% in 2017 than by 0.2%.
